I was so hyped up after the boss fights and also knew I was going to make this (at this point why not just arrange the whole "INSIDE" album lol). Definitely experimented with the arrangement a little, mostly in the ending I combined some pop elements rather than sticking to a traditional orchestra. Sounds massive with all of the sections and hopefully this is as hype as the original. Also did a slight key change. The original key was in E major which is not easy to read for the brass. Have adjusted to F major for a brighter sound and hope it is more playable if you want to bring this arrangement to your orchestra :P

I have been writing a lot of music but have paused posting publicly. Many of my past year's work involved me writing specifically for my local concert band. As a lot of work has been piled up, I shall resume posting on this website haha. After playing through the Penacony Arc of Star Rail, I KNEW I had to arrange this piece afterwards. What a rollercoaster of emotions... The romance, suspense and hidden lores...all very well written. I cannot wait to play 2.1 for more story and lore drops. So many things have happened in the last few months. I had been studying extensively for my uni course and gone for several placements. It was very, very, very difficult trying to keep up with composing/arranging at the same time. Having said that, I also took a long break from composing as I no longer find my soul within the new music I created. I stopped posting and turned to write several drafts/exercises in order to capture elements that really make my music "my" music. Sorry for the long wait everyone T_T. Making this suite was an ambiguous choice when I exited my break. I would say not everyone would have the patience to listen to the full 11 minutes, but I wanted to try my best to re-crafting the beautiful stories portrayed within the Aranyaka World Quest. This quest brought me to tears when I played it in-game. Absolutely fantastical and heart-touching. It would be best if such a suite can be played live but oh well I can keep dreaming lol....... I hope everyone can enjoy this work, and thank you to those who have stuck by in the last few years!

So many of them are underrated and not known to many people. This time around I've changed some of my thoughts going into orchestration. Given that this Chinese animation "神兵小将" has many Chinese fantastical elements within its setting, I've incorporated many Chinese instruments to illustrate an “epic, dynastic and cultural' vibe associated with ancient China. Often I wake up and realise yesterday was 2022, not 2021 nor 2020. It felt that the world stagnated for 2 years, and then all significant events burst out in the last few months (as we have seen from the Ukraine War, Sri Lanka Crisis and severe lockdown occurring in Shanghai. Just to name a few). The memories of the past blend in so well with the current life, due to how similar and restrictive these past 3 years have become. This arrangement dedicates to the childhood memories fading more and more away from me. The original song was a very low-key Chinese animation "神奇啊呦" and has not been released worldwide. However, as I've been listening to these old songs, I find this particular track amazing and nostalgic. Hence, I've made it into an orchestral arrangement in conjugation with children's choir, to evoke that sense of nostalgia to the best I can :D

And......To be honest, this arrangement is one of those where ideas came out of nowhere. I've just finished my exams and played through the story of Honkai Impact 3. Oh god was the lore great and I burst into tears at the end of chapter 25. The CN voicing acting absolutely killed it. After playing it, an idea came into my mind: "What if all the characters in the story are assigned to an instrument. Each instrument has a solo with piano, where the piano symbolises the main character Kiana Kaslana. Hence, the medley mimics the journey each character accompanies Kiana. And, in the end, all of the separate melodies come together as a way to build up the climax, reflecting how each character has stayed by Kiana's side during her final battle." As a result, this medley was born. Written in a very different orchestration style. The texture is very thin all the way until the finale when the orchestra joined it. It was very interesting to write 5-6 melodies at once during that buildup. Originally I thought it would clash a lot, but the result turned out to be much better than I expected. The ending with the clarinet solo and piano was purposefully written to highlight how Himeko's spirit has been watching Kiana throughout her journey. Till now, I still cry when I see this quote (Spoiler's warning): "...这是场梦...梦都会醒的...我知道..." “...我会回去...会打倒千人律者...带芽衣回家..."
